Examine your Life - why not take a serious look at your life?

Many people just coast through life. They work during the week and wait until the weekend before they start living. Others embrace each day full of wonder and try to cram in as much as they can in this short life. However your approach to living you should start to think about your life in more depth. You are actually much more that what you are displaying physically and mentally.

Is your life filled with wonderment, excitement and joy? Or, is it filled with everyday tasks that bore you and leave you unfilled? Are your relationships vibrant or are they stale? Are you filled with courageousness and confidence with a myriad of life goals that you can’t wait to achieve? Or, are you overflowing with doubts and insecurities? Does your mind tend to gravitate towards the positive with only an expectation of the best? Or, does it dwell on negative beliefs and thoughts of what you lack? Are you living the life you want or are your living with little sign of advancement or growth?

If you are not completely happy about how your life has turned out then you are not alone. Many people cruise through their lives waiting on it start and before they know it they are middle-aged and disillusioned!

How did you arrive at where you are now? What does your present experience really mean?

You should never give up on your dreams. Everything is possible in this realm of existence and it is easier to achieve your dreams than you think. All you need to do is get your thinking/feeling nature right and everything else will fall into place!

Do you have goals? You may have lived a life without goals and dreams telling yourself that you were going with the flow but it is human nature to have aspirations! You may know what you want but just do not know how to get it. However, without a concrete tangible goal you will never find the way!

It is also pointless waiting on life to get better or for someone else to fix it for you. You must take responsibility for your own life and the acquisition of your goals and dreams. Have you allowed your subconscious mind to run on autopilot and to direct your thoughts, actions and dialogues? If so you have done yourself a major disservice in life!

You must learn how to use your mind properly so that you can direct your thoughts and actions towards what you want and away from what you do not want. You must change your attitude!

Right now make a firm decision to change into someone better. Find something that gets you totally motivated. This can be a goal or a long-held desire. The more you want something the better motivated you will be to get it. So pick something you really want and set it as a goal.

Focus on the positive! See every outcome as a positive. Look for the silver lining in every adverse situation. There is always something to learn or experience in every negative situation that can make you a better person or that leads you closer to your dreams.

Your mind thinks in pictures so create better pictures inside your head. “See” yourself living the life you want and take action to get you closer to that mental image!

Spend a little quiet time alone in meditation on a regular basis to program your subconscious mind with your goals.

What Happens During Hypnosis? by Alicia D. Cramer

You may have considered trying hypnotherapy before for career enhancement or to defeat some nagging characteristic that you dislike about yourself. However, fear of the unknown may have kept you away. This is understandable, because the average person (who isn’t schooled on Freud, Mesmer and Braid) really hasn’t received much mainstream information about hypnosis outside of the movies.

It’s important to note first of all what hypnosis is and isn’t. By definition, hypnosis is a mental state which is brought on by a series of hypnotic suggestions. The full session of hypnosis usually breaks down in this way:
- Focusing (the hypnotherapists asks the client to focus)
- Relaxing (using an induction technique, the hypnotherapist guides a client to progressive relaxation)
- Deepening (when a person enters an altered state of consciousness or “trance”)
- Suggestible state (when a person reaches a state of trust and openness)
- Posthypnotic suggestion (when the therapists makes suggestions)
- Awakening (coming out of this altered state)

It’s important to realize that real hypnosis is not anything like “showbiz hypnosis.” Real hypnotherapists take time to understand their clients and discover what it is you want out of your sessions. The inquisitive process is a long one at first, as this helps both the client and therapist to learn and trust one another. The therapist must also take note of the type of language that the client uses to process information. The actual session of hypnosis can last anywhere from 30 minutes to over an hour.

Hypnosis is not really about “embedding commands” into a person’s subconscious. It’s about reconditioning the person’s automatic thought process. Hypnosis works best when positive reinforcement (through suggestion) is given. Much of what you learn early in life (the manners, the thinking patterns) becomes automated process in your adulthood. Breaking away from these patterns is not always easy for people who have dealt with trauma or who had strong conditioning ingrained in them while growing up.

Sometimes the only way to rid yourself of a bad habit or to get rid of self-limiting beliefs is to change the thought process. You could say that hypnosis is an organic process, one that favors natural psychology over powerful and potentially damaging medications.
The truth of the matter is that you already are the person you want to be! You’re not cursed to be “ordinary”, nor are you unable to achieve something because of your under performing mind or body. These are all toxic thoughts that can impede your objectives.
Sometimes all it takes is a few “small steps” to change certain thinking patterns and make a great change in life. This is where hypnotherapy can help you.

Hypnosis at the best!

When most people think about cancer they think about a disease that strikes suddenly and kills quickly. However were you aware that people develop cancerous cells everyday?

The reason that this rarely develops into a full on bout of cancer is because the immune system effectively attacks the cancer cell(s) before they can cause an outbreak. What does this mean? It means that cancer is caused by a failure in the immune system. Why does the immune system fail? Usually because of stress (both mental and physical) or poor nutrition.

Traditional cancer treatment typically consists of surgery to remove the tumor and either chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Sometimes a hormone therapy is also used. The idea behind this approach is to remove the mass of cancer and then to completely kill off any cancerous cells that may not have been caught by the surgery. While this is the best option we have currently come up with for fighting cancer it comes with several drawbacks.

Firstly is causes a lot of stress to the immune system, it’s not only cancerous cells which are killed but white blood cells too. Secondly it is both physically and psychologically demanding for the person receiving such an intense course of treatment. Thirdly all this treatment inevitably leads to pain, and with the immune system weakened the healing process can take even longer than it normally would to repair the damage. These are all good reasons why a cancer patient may wish to look for a complementary cancer treatment, one of the most popular options is in fact hypnotherapy.

Since the mid to late 1950’s where both the British and American Medical Associations’ gave their approval of the medical use of hypnosis (as well as Pope Pius XII) hypnotherapy has been used successfully to help people lose weight, quit smoking, improve their sleep, overcome their fears and much more. In more recent years though hypnotherapy has become the leading complementary treatment for cancer.

There are many reasons why someone who is suffering from cancer may wish to use hypnotherapy. To begin with hypnotherapy is an excellent method of relaxation, and with the stresses and strains cancer (and it’s treatment) causes this in itself can provide a great relief. Hypnotherapy can also help a patient think more positively about their situation and illness. It is a dark period of anybodies life, yet with the proper thoughts and suggestions a person can still be upbeat and enjoy life. It has also been proved by many scientific studies that people with a positive outlook heal more quickly and have lower mortality rates.

Perhaps the most useful use of hypnotherapy for cancer patients though is reducing the pain and nausea they may be suffering. Unfortunately pain is to be expected when fighting cancer, and both chemotherapy and radiotherapy have been known to cause severe nausea in some patients. Hypnotherapy can reduce both these issues because of the way it directs the subconscious mind. Have you ever had a scratch that you didn’t know was there, then when suddenly you saw it it suddenly started to hurt, even though it didn’t before?

That’s the power of the mind. In a reversal of this process a hypnotherapist can help a patient forget about the pain and nausea they have been experiencing and greatly reduce any discomfort.

Many hospitals and hospices now employ hypnotherapists to help people dealing with cancer as well as many other serious conditions. I hope that you have found this article useful. If you, or anybody you know, is currently fighting cancer please consider using hypnotherapy as a complementary treatment. It is not a cure, but it can make the situations much more bearable.
